Image to Prompt Generator

Upload, paste, or link a reference image and turn it into a ready-to-use prompt for AI image generation. Choose a universal prompt or a format tailored to your favorite model.

Add an image to prompt reference

Use the exact image you want the prompt to describe, so the result matches the subject, mood, lighting, composition, and visual details.

How It Works

Turn a visual reference into prompt language

The image stays as the source of truth. The tool analyzes visible details and reshapes them into prompt text for the image model you choose.

1

Add your reference

Upload a local image, paste from your clipboard, or use a direct image URL.

2

Choose the prompt format

Pick a universal prompt or tune the output for Midjourney, Flux, Stable Diffusion, GPT Image, Nano Banana, video generation, or structured JSON.

3

Generate the prompt

The tool converts subject, style, composition, lighting, and mood into copy-ready prompt text.

4

Copy and refine

Use the prompt as a strong first draft, then adjust model parameters or creative direction as needed.

From image to usable prompt

Explore real outputs across prompt styles, languages, and structured formats, so you can see exactly what the generator delivers before you upload.

Image to prompt example of a corgi puppy on an orange backdrop converted into a detailed AI image prompt
Template: Universal PromptPrompt Language: English
Generated result
A very cute Pembroke Welsh Corgi puppy is sitting on an orange background. The puppy has tan and white fur, large erect ears, and dark eyes. Its tongue is sticking out and licking its nose. The background is a smooth, solid, vibrant orange color with soft lighting that creates a gentle gradient. The camera is at a low angle, looking up slightly at the puppy, emphasizing its cuteness and playful expression. The overall mood is cheerful and endearing.

Template: Midjourney PromptPrompt Language: Español
Generated result
Prompt editing guide

What to edit after the prompt is generated

The generator can read the reference image and draft prompt language, but the best final prompt usually adds your target model, aspect ratio, exclusions, and creative intent.

Use the generated prompt as a visual inventory first, then decide what should stay, change, or be removed.

Keep

Preserve the visual cues that define the image

Keep the subject, composition, lighting, material, color palette, camera angle, and mood when those details are the reason you uploaded the reference.

  • For product references, keep visible shape, finish, texture, angle, and background style.
  • For portraits or characters, keep pose, framing, wardrobe, expression, and lighting without claiming identity.
  • For interiors or landscapes, keep the layout, season, time of day, atmosphere, and depth cues.

This is the part of reverse prompting that saves the most time: the image supplies details you might forget to write.

Change

Add the direction your image model cannot infer

A reference image does not know your final goal. Add the model, aspect ratio, style strength, output size, shot type, or campaign context yourself.

  • For Midjourney, add aspect ratio, stylization, version, or raw style only when you actually need them.
  • For Stable Diffusion, add subject-aware negative terms instead of generic long negative prompt lists.
  • For video tools, add motion boundaries such as "only the camera moves" or "keep the product shape unchanged."

The final prompt should describe the image you want next, not merely summarize the image you uploaded.

Remove

Delete details that would make the result worse

Image-to-prompt output can include clutter, incidental objects, brand text, watermarks, or background details that you do not want repeated.

  • Remove accidental reflections, cropped hands, visible logos, messy backgrounds, or unreadable text unless they are required.
  • Avoid using a generated prompt to imitate a real person, private artwork, or brand asset you do not have permission to reuse.
  • If the uploaded image contains sensitive or personal information, do not carry those details into the final prompt.

Good prompt editing is subtraction as much as addition.

This section is intentionally model-aware because Midjourney, Flux, Stable Diffusion, GPT Image, video tools, and JSON prompt workflows do not use prompt details in exactly the same way.

Image handling and privacy expectations

Image-to-prompt tools need trust because the input may contain people, products, private drafts, or unpublished creative work. Use this tool with the same judgment you would use for any online image upload.

Your image is the input

The uploaded image or image URL is used to generate prompt text based on visible details in that image.

Results are not public pages

Generated prompts appear in your session so you can review, copy, and edit them before using them elsewhere.

Be careful with sensitive images

Avoid uploading private documents, confidential designs, personal identifiers, or images you are not allowed to process.

URL input is supported

Use an image URL when the reference is already hosted and you do not need to upload a local file.

Review before reuse

Check the generated prompt for personal details, brand references, or visual assumptions before sharing it.

Read the policy

For full terms and privacy details, review the site's privacy policy before uploading sensitive content.

Image to Prompt FAQ

Answers to common questions about reverse prompting, model compatibility, upload quality, and how to refine generated prompts.

1

What is an image to prompt generator?

An image to prompt generator reads a reference image and turns what it can see, like the subject, style, composition, lighting, colors, camera angle, mood, and visual cues, into prompt text for AI image generation. It is especially helpful when you know the look you want but do not want to build the whole image to prompt description by hand.

2

How do I turn an image into a prompt?

Upload an image, paste one from your clipboard, or use a direct image URL. Then choose the image to prompt format you need and generate a copy-ready draft. You can review it calmly, make small edits, and use it in your preferred AI tool without starting from a blank page.

3

How are my uploaded images handled?

Your image is used only to create the image to prompt result in real time, then deleted immediately after processing. We do not store uploaded images, keep a history, or retain generated results. If the prompt matters to you, copy it after it appears so you have it for your own workflow.

4

Can it recover the exact prompt used to create an image?

Usually no, and that can feel frustrating when you are trying to recreate something closely. Image to prompt works like reverse prompting: it builds a useful prompt from what is visible in the image, but it cannot reliably know the original wording, seed, model version, hidden settings, or editing history.

5

Will the prompt recreate the same image exactly?

Not exactly. AI image models can be unpredictable, so even a careful image to prompt result is best treated as a strong starting point rather than a promise of a perfect copy. To move closer, adjust the model, aspect ratio, seed, parameters, or negative prompt in your generator.

6

Which AI image tools can I use the prompt with?

You can use a universal image to prompt output, or choose formats tailored for Midjourney, Flux, Stable Diffusion, GPT Image, Nano Banana, video generation, or structured JSON workflows. If you are unsure, start with the universal version and refine from there.

7

What images work best?

Clear images with a visible subject, enough resolution, and minimal compression usually produce better image to prompt results. Blurry screenshots, heavy filters, cropped images, or tiny files may miss details. If an upload fails, try a supported image under 5MB or export it as JPG, PNG, or WEBP.

8

Should I edit the generated prompt before using it?

Yes. Treat the image to prompt result as a first draft that has already done the hardest part for you. Remove details you do not want, add the target aspect ratio or model parameters, strengthen the style direction, and add constraints such as background, lighting, pose, or negative prompt terms when your image model supports them.
